The great RMT isk purge will likely crash PLEX prices in my opinion.
Tens of trillions removed from economy. (15T alone from PLs alliance wallet) - Less demand for PLEX
People worried about using RMT to aquire ISK - More people converting GTCs to PLEX to acquire ISK. (especially those trying to fix their neg wallet balance) |

Cheaper PLEX is good for the game. Only trying to speed up the inevitable. |

PL losing 15T isk wasn't actually true but trillions was removed from the accounts off botters/rmters.
Prices of PLEX have dropped steadily over the last week by 10m. |

Charles Javeroux wrote:What CCP did is a deal with NVIDIA to buy uber GFX card with PLEX. That deal in itself will increase demand for PLEX what will likely drive the prices up even further. The PLEX is around 500m currently and the blog about how to trade for the card is not even out yet.
So PLEX prices are not crashing any time soon.
The graphics card they are offering (limited numbers btw) is a low end gaming card. For many players it would be a downgrade.
Others for which this card would be an upgrade will have old gen CPUs which will be a bottleneck. Again reducing the market.
So that leaves people that want to SLI or build a new budget PC. How many of these people will have 20 PLEX to spend on this
Im guessing they wont sell nearly enough cards to account for the trillions of isk they are wiping from the economy. Not to mention all the cancelled/banned botting accounts that will no longer require PLEX. Oh and the nerf to incursion payouts.
Good luck selling you inventory before the market collapses.

PLEX prices continue to fall. Down ~20m in less than 2 weeks.
The incoming nerf to incursions should accelerate this.
I would also guess that more people will be converting GTCs to PLEX as ship prices have gone way up and income from missions/incursions is about to go down. |

Smoke Adian wrote:You realize:
a) A negative wallet does not mean a single isk was removed from the game. b) The 15T from PL was a PL troll.
That said, people who buy RMT isk will need to seed plex now instead. Additionally, with the cost of living increasing less people will be able to afford plex and plex will also be a more a tantalizing option for those who need more income as prices for everything increases. So yeah, I don't see any reason why plex's won't steadily fall for the time being.
a) It does if the wallet wasn't empty beforehand. b) Scroll up a bit and you'll see that I've already said that. |

I'm still expecting PLEX prices to drop after those who can and want to buy the GPUs do so. I think the market for the cards is very limited. Could be wrong though. |

Just thought I'd put that here so that our OP can continue to look silly.
Solidly above 500m you say? Not in Jita. |

Moto Akimoto wrote:TLDR: PLEX demand outstrips supply
They are making some drastic changes.
- A huge nerf to incursions is coming. People will have less isk to spend on PLEX - CCP is talking about a 10% reduction to npc bounties across the board. Same affect as above - People that were buying isk from RMTers will move to converting GTCs to PLEX. Increases their supply - If the bot banning campaign is successful there will be a significant dent in demand
Assuming that only new players sell PLEX for isk is dumb. You only have to go to eveboard to see numerous 80m+ SP chars with negative wallets to realize that many people, including vets, want isk without working for it. Now they'll have to flood the market with PLEX to get it and avoid a negative wallet balance.
They wont need to seed the 10k PLEX to drop prices. If they really needed to they could offer discounted PLEX deals like they have in the past. |

If the special offer on PLEX is the only factor driving their prices down then prices should jump back to 500m+ when the special offer finishes. I don't think it will. I guess we'll see soon enough. |

corestwo wrote:I would just like to point out that, over three weeks after this thread was posted, plexes have not once been appreciably* lower than they were when this thread started and then only "plummeting" they've seen was when people who did not get graphics cards were selling them off.
*The average was 500.5 million on 3/31 and has never to date dropped before 491.7; this is within daily variation.
Had I said PLEX prices would plummet within 3 weeks you would have a valid point. I did not.
I would actually be surprised if the behavior of the majority of people engaged in RMT changed in that period of time.
Once people realize that RMT isn't a good idea they will start dumping PLEX on the market to get their ISK and prices will plummet. |

Well I'm sure that when you "lay out" your reasons for why PLEX prices dropped they will be as nonsensical as following a thread that bores you.

Johnny Frecko wrote:err your prediction means nothing and you let the goons troll you for the good entertainment of the rest of us
If you make a prediction without a time line, you're not making a prediction If prices go up, you'll just say "wait for it", if prices go down you'll say "i told you so"
in other words, in your own world you'll always be right.
One of those goons made that exact same point just a few posts ago but in a much less tedious way
Johnny Frecko wrote:if you want to validate your point, state right now when is this "about" time frame going to happen.
Ok. It'll happen between now and the time you post something original. |
